Craving unhealthy food? You are probably eating too much salt

Are you more of a sweet tooth or a savory snacker? You should of course keep it in moderation with both sugar and salt, but sometimes you (unconsciously) get a little too much. For example, if you do not use the jar of salt yourself, but go out to eat or eat a lot of soy sauce with your sushi. When you consume too much salt, you can notice this by the following signals:

1. You are quite thirsty

It is quite logical that you get thirsty from salt, which is why it is also important that you drink a lot. Is your water-salt ratio out of balance? Then your body will automatically tell you that you need to drink more. That is why you often wake up with a dry mouth if you ate an anchovy pizza the night before.

2. You want to snack all the time

The more salt you eat, the more you crave it. Your taste buds also get used to it, so you don’t like pure and unsalted food, but prefer processed food.

3. Acidified Muscles

If the balance between potassium, calcium and salt is not right, you will notice that you suffer from muscle acidification during intensive exercise.

4. You have to pee often

If you drink a lot of water, you usually have to pee more often, which makes sense. However, it could also be your salt intake. When you eat a lot of salt, your kidneys work harder and you have to urinate more often.

5. Bloating

Are your fingers swollen? This is usually due to fluid retention, which can also be caused by salty food.
